The splash ring is a shaft protection part of the Badu TOP II (Bettar) pumps that prevents liquid from penetrating along the shaft from the hydraulics to the motor bearings.
Despite its small size, it performs a key protective function – without a correctly fitted ring, premature wear of the bearings and motor failure would occur.
The part is made of rubber or an elastomer resistant to pool water, chlorine and the temperatures generated during continuous pump operation.
Replacement of the ring is recommended with every replacement of the mechanical shaft seal or upon detection of water leakage from the pump shaft area.
