The transparent sight glass is a small but practically important part of the six-way valve of the MFS filter tank, which allows the water flow to be observed directly by eye without disassembling the assembly.
A mere glance at the sight glass reveals whether the water is flowing correctly, or whether the piping is fouled, air-locked or closed.
A replacement sight glass must be fitted in the event of cracking or clouding of the original part, so that the overview of the filtration status is not lost.
Installation requires no tools – the sight glass clips into the plastic valve body and immediately restores the function of the inspection window.
