The union nut is the threaded fastening element of the union connection of the Elecro UV sterilizer. It draws the connection spigot to the body of the sterilizer while compressing the sealing O-ring to achieve a watertight joint.
The original design is intended for hand tightening without the need for a wrench, which facilitates dismantling and reassembly when replacing the UV lamp or during servicing. The plastic material withstands pool chemicals and temperature fluctuations.
Replacement of the nut is recommended if the thread cracks or in the event of mechanical damage that would prevent achieving a reliable seal of the joint.
