The Filtreau Pool Basic 16 W UV-C lamp uses a proven low-pressure Philips lamp with a wavelength of exactly 253.7 nm, which corresponds to the absorption maximum of microorganism DNA. The result is the reliable destruction of bacteria, viruses, moulds and other pathogens without the use of additional chemicals.
The aluminium housing of the steriliser is polished to a mirror finish on the inside, so that the UV radiation is reflected back into the centre of the flow channel and the contact time of the radiation with the water is extended. This design increases the overall UV efficiency by 35 % compared with standard bodies.
The wider flow channel minimises pressure losses and ensures that the water flows slowly enough for full sterilisation. The lamp is fitted into a standard pipe circuit and requires no modifications to the hydraulics of the pool system.
