The upper part of the Bilbao filter tank, 500 mm in diameter, is a hemispherical plastic moulding with an integrated port for mounting a six-way valve. This part contains the flange for the valve and the inlet for the pressure gauge. Cracking caused by frost or mechanical damage leads to leakage of pressurised water and failure of the filtration. Replacing the upper part is an economical alternative to purchasing an entire new tank. The original part guarantees precise dimensions and material resistance suitable for the operating pressures of a sand filter. Replacement requires draining the water from the filter tank and temporarily shutting down the filtration.
