Couplings & Sockets

PVC couplings and sockets for joining two straight pipe sections – solvent-weld sockets in diameters from 20 to 315 mm, sockets with an internal thread from 3/8″ to 4″, and combination sockets for the transition from solvent-weld pipe to a thread. Prices start low, in-stock items ship within 48 hours, and we deliver across the EU. How to find the right part A solvent-weld socket is chosen by the outer diameter of the pipe or hose it connects – a 50 mm pipe takes a 50 mm socket. Threaded sockets are marked in inches, and into an internal thread (int.) you screw a part with an external thread. A combination socket, for example 32 × 1″, joins solvent-weld pipe to a part with a thread – useful for connecting a pump, filter or valve. What to watch out for A socket joins pipes permanently; if you will want to dismantle the part later, such as a pump or filter, use a union from the Unions category instead. A solvent-weld joint needs degreased surfaces, a cleaner, PVC-U cement and time to cure before you pressurise the pipework. Seal threaded joints with PTFE tape or sealing thread, not with cement. To change the diameter, use a part from the Reducers category. Who the category is for For installation companies and pool owners who repair or extend pipework. The shop is run by IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team. For service companies and resellers we offer a wholesale programme with individual prices.
