Heat Exchangers

Over 80 heat exchangers for heating pool water from an external source – a gas boiler, the building's heat pump, a solar circuit or district heating. In stock: tube and plate exchangers from Elecro (G2, G2C, SST, Plate), Zodiac Heat Line, Bowman Solar Titan, OVB and OVBD, and the Maxi-Flo, Hi-Flow and Hi-Temp ranges. Outputs cover a range from 20 kW for family pools to 293 kW for public facilities. In-stock items ship within 48 hours, and we deliver across the EU. Titanium or stainless steel The choice depends on how the water is disinfected. Pools with salt water and salt electrolysis require titanium exclusively – stainless steel corrodes in such water. Titanium exchangers are available both with an all-plastic body (Elecro SST) and as plate exchangers (Plate range with outputs of 80 to 780 kW). Stainless steel is cheaper and sufficient for conventionally chlorinated water, provided the recommended chlorine and pH values are maintained. How to size the output Choose the exchanger output according to pool volume, target temperature and how quickly you want to heat. The output of the source is just as important: an exchanger does not produce heat, it only transfers it, so a 40 kW exchanger connected to a 24 kW boiler will in reality deliver 24 kW. For a family pool 20 to 40 kW is common, while covered and year-round pools call for higher output. Compact units (for example the OVB 88 kW or Zodiac Heat Line Compact) have an integrated circulation pump, so there is no need to install one separately. What to watch out for The exchanger is placed in the circuit after the filtration and before the return jets; the primary circuit of the source must have its own pump and control. Connection sizes and threads differ between ranges, so compare them with your existing pipework. Do not forget a thermostat or a link to the automation, otherwise the exchanger will keep heating regardless of the water temperature – you will find solutions in the Complete Control Panels category. Alternative heat sources are in the parent category Heating, and standalone heat pumps in the Heat Pumps section. Who this category is for Pool owners who already have a heat source in the house and want to use it for the pool as well, and designers and installers dealing with heating of public and hotel pools. Behind the shop is IDOL SPAS s.r.o., a Czech hot tub manufacturer with its own service team – if you are unsure which to choose, we will advise you from experience. For service companies and resellers we offer a wholesale programme with individual pricing.
