The 185 mm collector lateral is a plastic replacement part of the SMG 750 filtration unit. The laterals are a key component of the distribution system that evenly distributes inflowing water across the entire cross-section of the filter tank, thereby ensuring maximum utilization of the sand media’s filtration capacity.
A damaged or broken collector lateral causes uneven flow, the formation of short-circuit channels in the sand and a significant deterioration in filtration quality. Replacing the laterals is therefore an essential part of regular preventive maintenance of the filtration system.
The part is made of durable ABS plastic resistant to UV radiation and pool chemicals. Installation is carried out without special tools after removing the six-way valve and taking the central pipe with the collector out of the tank.
