The seal under the collar of a heat pump is an original rubber or moulded sealing element that ensures water-tightness and damping of vibrations at the connection point of the fan or another structural part of the pump. A properly functioning seal prevents condensate from penetrating into the electrical section of the heat pump.
A damaged or worn seal causes visible condensate leaks, moisture on the surface of the device or amplified vibrations. Timely replacement of this inexpensive consumable part prevents far more costly damage to the electronics or motor of the heat pump caused by corrosion or a short circuit due to moisture.
The replacement is carried out by a service technician during routine maintenance of the heat pump or when the symptoms described above are detected. The original seal guarantees the precise dimensions and material compatibility required for the specific temperature and vibration conditions of the heat pump.
