In practice, the choice of material comes down to three contenders. Aluminium is the most practical option for a hot tub: it shrugs off constant humidity, needs no maintenance, and powder coating lasts for decades. Wood (larch, Douglas fir, glued spruce beams) wins on looks and atmosphere, but needs structural protection — covered post heads, feet on metal shoes above ground level — and periodic refinishing.
